Hand-painted and kiln-fired stained glass, created using traditional techniques for contemporary and heritage interiors.
About
A glass painter and conservator since 2000, I bring over 25 years of experience working at the intersection of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary design.
My work is rooted in the traditions of stained glass — particularly detailed glass painting — paired with a sensitive, bespoke approach to each commission. Working from my studio at home in a North Yorkshire village, each piece is painted and kiln-fired by hand. This setting, alongside an enduring influence from the surrounding landscape and historic glass traditions, informs a practice that is both considered and deeply personal.
I trained in-house and spent over 20 years as a Glass Painter and Conservator at Martin Johnson & Co (York) Ltd, as well as time in a private stained glass studio in Christchurch, New Zealand. I work with private clients, interior designers and architects to develop carefully considered commissions — from initial concept through to final installation — taking on a small number of projects each year.
